Dorothy has been an active community organizer for the past 21 years while raising her four children. She has regularly served as a teacher, coordinator, board member and/or volunteer in such programs as the elementary schools, community policing, playgroups, neighborhood committees, Pre-School Co-op, American Cancer Society, Unitarian Religious Education, Girls Scouts, and Leche League. She is also a licensed massage therapist who specializes in prenatal and infant massage. In addition to providing statewide training in Early Childhood Education, she has presented at local, state and national conferences. Dorothy has a strong commitment to ensure that all New Mexico families are provided with the resources and support necessary to meet their children’s needs. She is an active member of FLAN, the family voice of the Early Childhood Action Network and sits on the Family Engagement Advisory Council. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from DePaul University and is a life-long learner who continues to take graduate classes in education.
