Diana has been an FDP staff member
for 15 years giving leadership to workshops on building relationships,
parent involvement, and family literacy. She works as an Education
Specialist and Program Manager of the Wemagination Center. Her interests also include
minority and women’s rights, and how witnessing violence affects young
children. Diana is a dedicated community activist who has been working to
improve Albuquerque and much of New Mexico since the early 1980s. She is
an active leader in local, regional, and national service organizations
and is the recipient of several awards, including the 1995 Governor’s
Award for Outstanding New Mexican Women. She has been instrumental in
raising over $90,000 in scholarship money to help women in their
educational endeavors. Diana served as a committee member for the
Kellogg Early Childhood Community Council, an outreach initiative of the
College of Education, University of New Mexico. She currently is active
in promoting the University’s Work-Life Initiative, and has served on the UNM Advisory Board.
